Photo Infos: The photographs were taken on February 7 and 8, 2007 in the Institute for Jazz Research. Shown on the pictures are, among others, Mary Lou Williams in Joachim-Ernst Berendt’s Photo-Story des Jazz published by Krüger. On the ladder in the library lies the book entitled Jazz in Nordrhein-Westfalen seit 1946 (published by Robert v. Zahn / Emons Verlag). And in one of the record cupboards, the cover of Asteroid Zone (Improvised Music by John Preininger, 1979).
The pictures were taken by Robert W. Sackl-Kahr Sagostin; a freelance photographer and graphic artist since 1982. Master of Arts. Studios in Graz, Paris and Marrakech. Many international prizes (including Polaroid Award – England 1996, Digital Photographer of the Year – Germany 2002). From 1980 to 1985 in several jazz bands as drummer. Jazz fan from childhood and also a devotee of Walter Richard Langer’s radio series Vokal – Instrumental – International, which was broadcast from 1967 on the Ö3 radio station – and always ended with the words “keep swinging”.
